This flat is located in a splendid historical Berlin building in Kreuzberg. We renovated it in a chic Bohemian style to make it into a unique showcase that fit the owners’ image.
Our main idea was to deconstruct the original kitchen-pantry unit, turning it into a space with an elevated bedroom opening onto a bathroom and a walk-in wardrobe, thus creating a full en-suite space. The rest of the flat is structured around a corridor leading to three adjoining rooms with a view over the canal.
This “nest” is an invitation for the senses; it is adorned with variegated cement tiles, a custom-made concrete kitchen, a sewing machine repurposed into a sink, vintage furniture, linen, velvet, planks of wood salvaged from scaffolding and reworked to create a bespoke staircase…
An extraordinary residence!
